To me, the month of April means that you are almost at the end of school. It is like a wake-up call saying, ?it will soon be summer, so keep your grades up and continue doing well, you are almost there!? Last month, we discussed putting important things first, such as if you had to study for a test and go to a party on the same day, which should you do? I hoped you picked studying for the test, because that would be more important, of course. This month we will talk about The Relationship Bank Account. Look at the chart below and rate your relationships on a scale of one to five, where five represents a strong relationship.

The Relationship Chart

What score did you get? Regardless of your score, the author of The Seven Habits of Highly Efficient Teens, Sean Covey, will help us. Here are some things he suggests to do; they will help build your weaker relationships, and maintain the strong ones:
- Keep promises
- Do small acts of kindness
- Be loyal
- Listen
- Say you?re sorry
- Set clear expectations
Things you don?t want to do:
- Break promises
- Keep to yourself
- Gossip and break confidences
- Don?t listen
- Be arrogant
- Set false expectations
Following these tips will help you keep relationships, and even have better relationships. By the end of the month, take the Relationship test again, and if you score differently, you will know what you still need to work on. Have a great month, and remember that relationships are important. Whether they are with your family, teachers, or friends, all of them are important and make a difference in your life!
