Relationships and Marriage: Home is Where the Heart is Question 3....

Dictionary. com defines intimacy as a ?close, familiar, and usually affectionate or loving personal relationship with another person or group.? Isn?t this what marriage is all about?
How would you rate your current ?intimacy? level and where do you desire it to be? Ask your spouse where he or she would rate it as well. If you desire more connection, what is one thing you can do this week to foster deeper intimacy?sexually or otherwise. Please share what you come up with or what you currently do to build intimacy in your marriage.

Why is it so difficult for married couples to enjoy a thriving sexual? relationship as the years go by? Often, we believe in our heads that this sacred? connection is important, but it?s incredibly difficult to give it the priority? it deserves. When do we find time to truly connect at this intimate level? One? study found that due to jobs, kids, hobbies, family responsibilities, and other? factors?the average married couple spends just four minutes a day alone? together. Realistically, that robs couples of the level of intimacy God desires? for a marriage relationship.

There are many levels of intimacy within marriage, of which sexual? intercourse is only one expression of this. The purpose of this month?s date? night is to encourage couples not only to enjoy the joy and fulfillment of sex,? but to also foster greater intimacy with one another, even in the face of the? life?s hectic distractions and responsibilities.
